Inside the Mind

Mind Aim (Mind Aim, LLC) has its roots in a marketing and design firm named Schlegel Marketing Communications — yeah, not a very creative name. Anyway, SMC started in 2001, and despite its utilitarian name, saw steady growth every year. In 2007, the company transitioned itself to Mind Aim, a name that better reflects the key principle that had always guided its work.

Mind Aim is more than a name. It’s the primary tenet that directs everything we do. Mind Aim aims to put what you want to communicate, sell, explain, or teach into the mind of the appropriate audience in a strategic, creative way. That’s why we think our tagline says a lot about what we do…

Putting more than ideas in people’s heads.

Behind the Mind

Mind Aim, and its preceeding company SMC, was founded by the strategic-minded and creative guy Lance Schlegel. Before his own ventures, Lance held key positions in an advertising agency, a magazine publisher, a radio-show production company, an interactive development firm, and cable television channel.

Lance has worked with companies like 3M, Motorola, Compaq, CompUSA, Hirschmann, Ultra Electronics, and more. His career has always focused on helping clients communicate more effectively. This drives him to always keep an eye out for emerging technologies that have application for better communication and marketing.

Lance speaks to groups of all ages about the visual communication field and on starting a business in the 21st century. He has taught informal lessons on standards-based web development and is a member of the Technology Advisor Board for a Dallas County community college.
